Sabahan Will Show Displeasure at The Next General Election

BY Datuk Seri Panglima Wilfred Bumburing

The continual rejection by the Federal Government in setting up a Royal Commission of Inquiry to investigate the issuance of IC to non-malaysian under the Project IC is giving an impression to the people of Sabah that the Federal Government has something to hide from. People in Sabah and Malaysian as a whole are under the impression that there is something being hidden from them and they are demanding for an explanation. I am sure with this continual denial by the Home Minister with regards to Project ICs and illegal immigrants having acquired ICs through dubious means will be expressed by the people in Sabah during the next general election. The continual denial by the Home Minister over this issue is indeed mocking the intelligence of Malaysian in Sabah. Surely the government must have realized the severity and security of the State is at stake. Most especially when someone holding a Malaysian ICs daringly declaring himself as Sultan of another country, surely this must be something serious enough for the government to set up a Royal Commission of Inquiry (RCI). In the last Parliamentary seating, I have handed over to the Home Ministry a memorandum providing them with the proof that there exist foreigners who have managed to obtained Malaysian ICs making thme citizens of this country by registering as voters and being members of Malaysian political parties. I have called for the immediate revocation of all ICs issued to foreigners through dubious means. I will continue to bring this matter up in every Parliamentary Session until the Federal Government take concrete steps to solve what I and other leaders have called the “mother of all problem.” In this respect, I demand that the Home Minister offer a concrete and complete explanation on how they can offer to solve this problem since they rejected the call for the setting up of a RCI.
